Feel in love when it was on hickory street. My Dad took us to it. So hot it almost burnt our mouth. that was over 60 years ago. Only phone number I remembered when I got out of Military. Now at Bocce Club on Bailey. Still the greatest Pizza around.

Our family moved to Amherst in 1958 and Bocci’s was the first pizza our family ever had. I remember waiting in a mob on Friday or Sat night to pick up our pizza. It is still everyone’s favorite and the first thing out of town relatives want when they come home.

I am 50 years old and I have been eating Bocce Club Pizza for as long as I can remember. I remember as a kid when the family would order pizza are driving with my dad to pick it up. We would usually get a whole and a half – always cheese pepperoni and mushrooms. The parking lot was always packed. Walking into the place, the smell was almost overwhelming – it made you crave the pizza even more. I loved holding the pies on my lap and they were so hot, but it felt great. All these great memories come back every time I stop in for my favorite comfort food.

What makes Bocce great, is the ‘meaty pepperoni’ which is very unique. Once you leave Buffalo, 99% of pizza has a ‘salami type of pepperoni, thinly sliced & doesn’t have that spicy ‘zing’? Also, the ‘cheese’, is deliciously thick and ‘spread to the edge’ so the 1st bite is combines ‘cheese+spicy pepperoni & even a little burnt sauce’! That combo, is 2nd to none & always ‘piping HOT’!That winning combo, makes it easy to resist most pizza! I’ve been eating Bocce for about since I was a kid, about 50 yrs & the consistent flavors & taste, are never compromised! In fact, ‘DO NOT COMPROMISE on ingredients’-especially, the distinctive ‘pepperoni’!

I loved Bocce pizza ever since I was 5 years old and my mother would take us to Hickory St and she would buy a whole pizza. Then the bus trip home wasn’t fast enough. That was 62 years ago but I remember it like yesterday! Bocce pizza is something that I call comfort food! Every time I visit Buffalo, I stop in and get a pizza! Great memories!
